As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will work directly with both clients and insurance companies to bill and obtain payments for healthcare services rendered. Important responsibilities of the Medical Billing Specialist include using current medical billing procedures to create and submit a medical claim, working directly with clients to create payment plans, coordinating with insurance companies to resolve claims, and resolving denial instances. • Create medical billing claims by translating healthcare services rendered into corresponding alphanumeric medical billing codes
• Submit claims for payment to clients and/or insurance companies
• Submit billing data to the appropriate insurance providers
• Work directly with patients to create payment plans
• Coordinate with insurance companies to resolve claims
• Record outstanding claims, and resolve denial instances

• Interpersonal and oral communication skills
• Self-directed worker
• Ability to perform duties calmly and professionally
• Ability to complete tasks promptly
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology
• Knowledge of current medical billing/coding procedures, and current medical billing software desired, but not required. On-the-job training is available!

• High school diploma or its equivalent
